Au Service Du Peuple
The Renault factory in Boulogne-Billancourt is famous as the place where the factory occupations of the 1936 Popular Front got started.

Again in 1968, the workers of Boulogne-Billancourt seized their factory during the May Events. As soon as the students learned of the seizure a march was organised from the Sorbonne to the factory.  In a spirit of solidarity and strength the two united.

Operai Studenti

Potere Operaio was an extra-parliamentary workerist organization in Italy. Antonio Negri founded the party in 1969 and was committed to the workerist goal of autonomy.

The movement would distinguish itself primarily because of the intellectual talent associated with it, and become infamous because of some of its ex-members’ association (though unfounded) with the Red Brigades.

Negri especially would come under heavy scrutiny from Italian law enforcement after the kidnapping and assassination of the Christian Democrat Aldo Moro

Some People Talk About The Weather We Don’t

Sozialistische Deutsche Studentenbund print from orIginal poster housed at the 6876 HQ and sourced in Frankfurt  1970.  The SDS in Germany consisted mainly of college and university students. The SDS opposed the Vietnam war and Germany’s political involvement in it, as well as the use of nuclear weapons and objected that many former National Socialists still held influential positions in West Germany. They also wanted to advance democratic structures in all institutions, for example in schools.

Alternative lifestyles and more tolerance for same sex couples, a more open treatment of sexual topics, the right to abortion and equal rights for women. The students involved used the same methods of protest as the anti-war movement in the United States at that time, for example sit-ins and demonstrations.
